How Willow Creek was Created

Raj and Jill, in collaboration with a team of talented architects, land planners, and the town of Southbury, successfully transformed the famous Riker's Farm into Southbury's first private gated community. Originally known as one of the world's most renowned quarterhorse breeding facilities, Riker's Farm had fallen into disrepair over the past 40 years. Raj and Jill proposed and executed a plan to develop 21 lots on the upper part of the property only, saving the farm, and then to revive the farm to it's old glory, painstakingly restoring 65 horse stalls, building new outdoor riding rings, trails, a 16,000 square foot indoor arena a new high-end 30-stall barn, and of course a historic old-english pub. This plan not only saved this famous property from unnecessary overdevelopment, but created 21 beautiful homesites for families to cherish forever - overlooking one of CT's top equestrian centers.

Then to ensured the farm would always be preserved, they placed the property in conservation.  This not only ended up being a win-win for all, but is an example of what can be created when all parties work together in the right direction.

This development has become an oasis for all, whether a horse lover or a homeowner, it's like-minded neighbors that enjoy the good life! Over the past five years, Phase I sold out successfully, with ten happy homeowners enjoying homes of unique and custom creations. Now, Phase II is being offered, featuring some of the best lots available on the property. Visit us to see for yourself why we are Southbury's most exclusive, AND FUN, community!

Willow Creek Estates

In Southbury CT, we continue the creation of Willow Creek Estates, a collection of custom farm homes surrounding Willow Creek Farm, one of CT's top equestrian farms boarding 65+ horses and our home.  There we worked with the town to insure the historic farm would always remain a horse farm in conservation,  and homes would be built on the adjoining 50 acres overlooking the farm down our private gated drive, allowing for minimal farm impact and preservation of an important property.

"The best part about Willow Creek Estates is our community! In a short time, we have created a neighborhood where people genuinely enjoy each other's company. Whether playing golf together, having block parties, gathering informally in our historic English pub, or celebrating special occasions, it’s incredible how we’ve been fortunate enough to attract such a wonderful group of homeowners. We hope to continue this camaraderie with the launch of Phase II, offering more opportunities for new residents to become part of our close-knit and welcoming community"

"To me, every day at Willow Creek Estates is idyllic. Having lived in New York City for the past 35 years, I am still a country girl at heart as I grew up in Virginia surrounded by animals. There is nothing more peaceful and relaxing than being immersed in nature. On top of this, being part of a community with such an incredible group of homeowners who also enjoy the outdoors and various activities is just the icing on the cake. I wake up happy living here every day!"
